MEET THE EDITORS
MICHAEL LINENNEN is from Hong Kong, China. He says being involved in this project has opened his eyes on Indigenous issues. He hopes his stories can inspire people to learn more about Indigenous cultures and the history of the country we are living in. That will be a step forward for reconciliation.
NEIL POWERS is from Seattle. He is grateful for a 60s Scoop survivor friend, who shared his knowledge and for Shannon’s Indigenous Studies class. He is grateful to have talked with Ian Adams who, despite threats and criticism, 51 years ago wrote the story of Chanie Wenjack’s fatal escape from residential school. He thanks all the people who graciously made time and shared their stories for this magazine.
BAMBANG SADEWO is from Jakarta, Indonesia. He says it’s been a humbling and learning experience listening to everyone who shared their stories. The magazine is “your stories.”
ZAID NOORSUMAR is from Karachi, Pakistan. He believes we cannot acquire an in-depth understanding of Canada's present if we don't learn how it has been shaped by the past. He is committed to educating himself about Indigenous peoples, as he believes their stories are the history of this land.
